“Between Comings and Goings” is a performance that deals with solitude as a place of refuge against the imperatives of the romantic love and the excess of accesses and connections we currently experience.
As a part of the festival of urban performances “Solidão A Gosto” (Lonely August), the intervention took place at the Salgado Filho Airport, in Porto Alegre, as a space and a tool to smudge the physical pain in the contingency of a long-distance relationship.
Carrying my loneliness as my baggage and, at the same time, my own condition to freedom, I performed a love/hate/surrender process with this luggage and a white blanket as well as read out loud texts written by Rainer Maria Rilke in the book “Letters to a Young Poet”.
From the performance, the text “Me-luggage” was born and published in the compilation book “Performance Experimentations” (Experimentações Performáticas), organized by Wagner Ferraz and reviewed by me.
